Chandigarh | The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday approved the bail demand of IRS officer Dheeraj Garg, accused in the case of taking bribe from a tax-evading transporter. Justice Gurvinder Singh Gill said in the judgment that the anticipatory bail pleas of the two main accused in the case, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Harish Batra and Taxation Inspector Jatinder Joon, have already been approved. The challan in this case is yet to be produced and the trial will take time to complete. In such a situation, the demand for bail of the accused behind the bars is being approved in two months. On the other hand, senior Indian Administrative Service officer Rajesh Khullar took charge as Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner of Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Department on Monday. He also held a meeting with the officials.
