Chandigarh | In order to restore the old glory of Punjab Roadways, considered to be the backbone of the Transport Department of Punjab, the Punjab Government has decided to include debt free buses of Punbus in the roadways. After the merger of about 587 buses of PUNBUS, the number of buses in the roadways fleet will be 790. In the cabinet sub-committee, Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, Employment Minister Aman Arora, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh asked the Transport Department to expedite the process of merging debt-free buses of PUNBUS with Punjab Roadways. The sub-committee instructed the officials that regular checking of the buses should be done, 10 times + fare should be charged from the ticketless passengers, while it should be ensured that the buses stop at the designated bus stops.
